      Leading the Future of the Industry: Daze Electrode and Partners Jointly Update Hydrometallurgical Electrode Plate Industry Standards

      Standard Upgrade, A New Milestone for the Industry

      On October 24, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China officially released the newly revised series of hydrometallurgical electrode plate industry standards. These standards were initiated and drafted by Yunnan Daze Electrode Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Daze”), together with leading enterprises including Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium Co., Ltd., Norin Mining Ltd., Henan Yuguang Zinc Industry Co., Ltd., and Danxia Smelter of Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. The new standards officially came into effect on May 1, 2025.

      Since 2014, Daze has led the drafting of four key hydrometallurgical electrode plate industry standards: Anode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Copper Electrowinning YS/T 1089—2015, Cathode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Copper Electrowinning YS/T 1090—2015, Anode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Zinc Electrowinning YS/T 995—2014, and Cathode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Zinc Electrowinning YS/T 1088—2015. Over the past decade, these standards have played an important role in regulating industry development, improving product quality, and driving technological progress.

      Strong Partnerships, Setting New Industry Benchmarks

      With deep technical expertise and extensive practical experience in electrode materials, Daze worked closely with its partners to comprehensively revise and improve the existing standards.

      In the field of copper electrowinning, Daze collaborated with Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium Co., Ltd. and Norin Mining Ltd. to update Anode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Copper Electrowinning YS/T 1089—2024 and Cathode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Copper Electrowinning YS/T 1090—2024.
      In the field of zinc electrowinning, Daze partnered with Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium Co., Ltd., Henan Yuguang Zinc Industry Co., Ltd., and Danxia Smelter of Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. to revise Anode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Zinc Electrowinning YS/T 995—2024 and Cathode Plate for Hydrometallurgical Zinc Electrowinning YS/T 1088—2024.

      This “l(fā)eading enterprises taking the lead, industry chain collaboration” model of standard formulation not only ensures the advancement and applicability of the standards, but also guarantees that the standards accurately reflect industry needs and technological trends, laying a solid foundation for their effective implementation.

      The technical innovations in the new standards not only reflect the latest achievements in the industry, but also provide technical support for advancing hydrometallurgical electrode plates toward high performance, long service life, and low energy consumption. In particular, the newly added requirements for electrical conductivity and welding quality will significantly improve energy utilization efficiency during the electrowinning process, creating favorable conditions for nonferrous metal smelting enterprises to achieve energy-saving and emission-reduction goals.
